Engaging With Activity CIC (EWA) is a community interest company using person centred activities to promote independence and self worth within the home and community.
EWA promote the health and wellbeing of older adults regardless of their abilities or disabilities. We also offer activities which empower people living with a dementia, learning disability and their carers. Positively forwarding integration of people with dementia and learning disabilities we offer a setting where all adults can come together. EWA actively promotes awareness of living with dementia offering advice and training for those who wish it.
By offering exercise classes and individual programmes we help enable clients to become pro active in managing their condition, build up confidence in their ability to increase/maintain/manage, whatever mobility they have and maintain as much independence as possible.
In a pilot initiative, the new Brora Village Hub @beachview opened on Monday 1st June under a new guise, with Easter Ross-based community interest company Engaging with Activity (EWA) offering a range of services on NHS Highland’s behalf.
Moves are in hand to transform an NHS Highland day centre in Sutherland into a “health and wellbeing hub”, serving people from throughout the area.
The vision is that the revitalised centre will play a wider community role in promoting the health and wellbeing of adults, regardless of their abilities or disabilities.
